Pets

I just read my sister post about her cat. She found it dead. It's horrible. It's soo hard to have a pet and have it killed by another animal and left for you to find.
We have always had animals. When I lived in rental property where we weren't suppose to have pets we still had pets. Cats mostly. Hamsters, lots of them. When we lived places that allowed pets we had more.
When I moved from Colorado to West Virginia I had a Great Dane. Do you know how hard it is to find some one that will rent to you with a dog that size. He really wasn't destructive, just big. The worst thing I did to that dog was move into a house were I couldn't keep him inside. He got sickly and I had to take him to the vet. It turned out he had heart worms. I couldn't afford to treat him for the worms so we opted to have him put to sleep. The vet was get. Wennie (the dog) short for Sir Wennihan of Schaumburg, was getting old for a Dane, he was almost 6 years old. Any way the vet had me pay to have him put down and told me he would take the dog to his house, he'd treat him and let him live out his life running the fields and being happy. Who could turn that down. I kissed my baby boy good-bye and drove off.
My kids were little the youngest about 5. For the longest time when we drove past the last house we lived in with Wennie my little girl would point towards the house, start to cry and say, "I want my Wennie dog. Where's my Wennie dog?"
I have many pet stories. I won't bore you with my favorites all at once I'll just throw one out from time to time. Right now I have to decide what comes first homework or dinner. I think dinner will win, I'm hungry.
Love your pets their lives are so short and they look to you for fullfillment.
