i always told my kids that i brought them into this world and i could take them out. boy did i want to take my 28 y/o out today. she's my recent dui, which has been continued so she's still driving. i'll not go into all the details but i really had to use self control to keep from beating her to a pulp. briefly, she got off work around 2AM and i didn't see her until around 4pm. she's the one with the six year old. what do you say to a child when they ask, "where's my mommy?" enough.
we are having a horrible draught. i think we've had 2 inches of rain since july. my yard is dust. not regular dust but that fine fluffy powder. when my dogs get running around it looks like a kansas dust storm. water restrictions every where. we can use all we want, we have a well. needless to say we don't. we try to be very conservative. when our water runs out it's really out. all our lakes are being drained for consumption. i learned something this summer, north carolina has no, yes, zero natural lakes. all lakes are man made and most are for consumption and flood control. lots of rivers so damming them up makes a quick lake. it's very odd looking to drive by and see boats tied to docks and no water under them.
covered the pool. the leaves are falling from lack of water not the cold, tonight's the first cool night we've had, it's getting down in the 40's. yesterday's high was over 90.
my hand is better. still can't use it. i guess it'll be six weeks. i've got 5 more to go.
i'm getting things to put in the camping trailer. i figure i'll get it setup with everything, dishes, linen, etc so when we want to go we can just hitch it up and go. none of that packing and un- packing. i'll put things in plastic so it'll stay clean. smart? lazy? don't know, i'm looking for easy.
i'm going with red in the little kitchen and green in the bathroom, earth tones in the bedroom.
hope & happiness

Sorry about your daughter's dui. It's hard when the adult child isn't responsible. Hope your hand is mending well. Thanks for the advise on the doggie door. I will give it a try
