Missing Mom

Happy Birthday mom. Since she died I find myself talking to her at the strangest times. I just recently got to where I wasn't tell my dad happy birthday every year. I guess old habits are hard to break. Dad and I have our moments. He comes to me in my dreams, sometimes. So far mom hasn't.

Thanksgiving is over. We're still eating turkey. I had a house full. We didn't eat until 9PM. My oven has a feature that I don't even know how to use but I most of set it by accident. The oven shut itself off about an hour into the cooking process. It worked out ok. We usually don't have our holidays on the holiday because I'm a nurse. This year Thanksgiving was on Thanksgiving so most of the people that come to my house to eat had other places to go. When they got done with their other family they came by the house. Well, pulling the bird out of the oven at 8:30PM most everybody was ready for more food. Those of us that hadn't already had a large meal had been eating pies all evening.

We're trying to get ready for my Christmas present. We're getting 2 miniature horses. I had horses as a kid and I've waited a very long time to have more. Chancey is a mare, she's 30 inches tall and JoJo is a gelding, he's 33 inches tall. Both horses were born in 1996. We are fencing in a section of our property and looking at a building to put in the fenced area. I have to call the electric company and see about putting power out in the field. All the crap you've got to do to get things done. Anyway, I can't wait. Hope everyone had a good holiday.
