Wonders of the World

I spent over an hour on Saturday being totally amazed. My eldest daughter and I went to see 'Body World'. It was the most wonderful thing I've ever seen. If you ever wonder how the machine you live in is put together and how all the parts fit, this has the answers. I'm a nurse and I've had some basic anatomy and I have an immense curiosity and obsession about the human condition. In case you don't know what 'Body World' is...it's a display of real humans sliced and diced. Not in a morbid kind of way but in a educational kind of way. The cadavers are treated to keep them from decaying and then they are conditioned with plastic. It's an amazing process. People donate their bodies to this project. It's been years in the making. There is a section that shows embryotic development. The little tiny babes made me feel sad. They didn't get to live any of their lives, but they are providing a very important contribution to the rest of us, education and an understanding of ourselves. http://www.bodyworlds.com/en.html Check it out.

I'm really getting better. I can use my hand some now. I'm typing, not very fast and my middle finger is very numb which makes typing interesting. My index and my thumb are tingly but a little better. I don't know if I'll get more feeling as time passes or not. (if I don't get the feeling back the surgery was a waste of time and money) I can make a fist, couldn't do that a week ago. Wrist is stiff as hell and painful. Grip is slack. But compared to a week ago it's great. Therapy 3 times a week for the next two weeks.

I'm trying to get some Christmas shopping done. HA! I did shop for clothes for my grandsons. Since they don't live here any more I have to guess when they need something. I finally just asked my daughter if they had any winter clothes. The answer was, "not that fit". Made a trip to k-mart. Still need to hit the Goodwill store. Goodwill is a great place to get clothes for little kids. I find a lot of stuff with tags still on. Lots of brand name stuff. Most are $2.49.

Time to read.

We went to Body Worlds here in Phoenix with Bro and Carole. Thing 3 was sick to his stomach and whining the whole time, so I didn't get to study as hard as I wanted. :D
